Maxfield Parrish (born Frederick Parrish) was an American 
painter and illustrator whose career spanned over half a 
century. As an illustrator, Parrish collaborated with many 
magazines, including Life, Collier's Weekly, and Hearst's, as 
well as drawing posters and illustrations for books, mostly 
fairy tales.
Parrish used many innovative techniques in his paintings and 
was the author of his own painting methodology. One of the 
shades of blue is named after him - Parrish Blue.

Daybreak is his most famous and popular art print, it has outsold 
Andy Warhol's Campbell's Soup Cans and Da Vinci's Last Supper. 
The original painting was sold in 2006 for $7.6 million.
