Giuseppe Maria Crespi, nicknamed The Spaniard, was an 
Italian Baroque painter and printmaker, one of the traditional 
great Old Masters of the period. He painted in different styles and
genres, mainly mythological and religious scenes, the life of 
peasants, as well as portraits.
